A Studienkolleg is a one-year foundation course for international students whose secondary-school qualification is not directly recognised for German university entry. It ends with the Feststellungsprüfung (assessment exam), which then grants university access.
Why it matters for applicants from Pakistan, India & Bangladesh
Many Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi 12th-grade certificates don't qualify for direct entry, so a Studienkolleg is often a required step for the university route.
