A Berufsschule is the vocational school that delivers the classroom half of a Duale Ausbildung. Trainees attend on set days (or in blocks) to learn the theory and general subjects tied to their trade, while spending the rest of the week working at their employer.

Berufsschule is taught in German, which is why employers require B1–B2 before you start — you must be able to follow lessons and pass exams.
